Thanks for all the lovely comments on this piece and apologies I've not yet got round to replying to them all.

This week I've decided to do something a bit different and just feature one person.

has a terrific (if a little haunting) gallery containing some really unique work. Furthermore though our two photography styles are very different she's always over on my page dropping comments and leaving feedback. So a big thanks, it doesn't go unnoticed.

The feedback on the Pic du Midi shot has been amazing, thanks again.

After been away for 3 years it's been a battle to get established again and I sympathise with all those trying to get exposure for the first time. Therefore I've decided to start featuring good work that hasn't got much exposure.

I'd just like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for their support. I've only been back on DA for just over a month and already the feedback has been phenomenal so a massive thanks to all, it's good to be back.

It's good to be back - New work is been uploaded

Ok so I'm ashamed to say it's been nearly 3 years since I contributed anything to DeviantArt. That's not to say the passion still isn't there though and these last 3 days have been spent revamping my account (it appears much of the coding has changed) and sorting through 3 years of various work. Apologies for all those I've not got back to, but when I signed in there were just over 1000 notes and 8000 messages in total to view. I'll try and sort through as many as I can! There's been some great artwork to sort through from watching various people, is always refreshing to see so much good work been created.

Finally thanks for the continued support of so many people. My brushes now have over 20,000 favourites which is far more than I ever hoped for. I hope the community has been finding them useful! Again a big thanks to all.

My artwork has taken a turn towards photography recently as I've been working as a climbing guidebook author. This has taken me to some fantastic locations and I've been lucky enough to work with some great people. I will endeavour to upload as many of the shots as possible, I hope you enjoy them. If there is still a demand for PS brushes I will have a look at uploading a new set in the near future, though it's been a while, they might be terrible!

03/08/07 - Well it's now summer and I haven’t updated my journal for 6 months! Pretty poor... so here goes…

Firstly thanks to the continuing support even in my absences from the sight. Over 5000 favourites on the blood brush set now, my thanks to all those that contributed to this amazing figure.

Secondly congratulations to all those design projects that have been mailed to me. Sadly I don't have time to view and comment on them all but those I have had chance to look at have been excellent. I've uploaded a new deviation (first one in a while so excuse me if I'm a little rusty!) so please feel free to take a look and provide some feedback. I'm away for a short period again but will try and got some more work uploaded ASAP. I've also had several requests for a new brush pack so will try and get that one in the pipeline for the near future.

10/11/06 - Hello again all! I figured it was time for a journal update; I've changed the image sizes within the journal so hopefully people running monitors at a lower resolution should be able to fit it on correctly. If anyone is still having problems then please note me and I'll see what I can do. I've submitted two deviations the previews for which can be seen below; please take a look if you can spare the time! Equally if anyone has any working they would like some feedback on just note me or drop a comment on the page and I'll take a look.

03/08/06 - As you can see my page has had a serious revamp. I've edited several deviations to try and streamline my page so apologies to watchers who keep getting prompted about old artwork. I've been doing a lot of graphics work recently for several commercial companies and as a result have unfortunately neglected DA. I hope everyone's designing has been progressing well in my absence, I'll try and get round various friends galleries shortly and have a look. I'd also like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for their continuation support. My page has just hit 40,000 views today while my deviations have received 6000 favourites. This makes all the hard work worthwhile so once again my thanks to all.

With regards to recent work I've been concentrating on fantasy artwork. I've put it in the photomanipulation section as I feel there's more photo than actual painting (though each piece usually has several hours of brush work added). The above are two pieces I've completed recently and will be uploaded shortly. I hope you enjoy them as much as I did making them.

I've also had a number of brush requests which I'll try and work through. Watch this space for future releases.

Firstly my apologies (again) for my recent inactiveness. Life certainly never stands still for anyone. I Hope everyone had a great Christmas and is looking forward to the new year.

I've been working on several large abstract pieces recently and as the title indicates I'm looking for some talented artists to collab with. The concept pieces in their present states are shown below:

Obviously they yet need allot of work but I'm hesitant to do any more as I'd like to encourage some free thinking be a collab partner. If your interested on working on either one of the pieces with me then please drop me a note.

Now I've got some time on my hands again I will also be running the weekly featured artist scheme again so again drop me a note if you think your work deserves a closer look at.

Finally I'm in the process of making another abstract brush set focussing on large tech work so watch this space.

Firstly my apologies to all for being inactive for a time. It's been a hectic summer with lots of commitments (ok holidays

). I'm finally back at uni now though with once again some time for some graphics work.

A very big thanks to all the people who have supported my Blood Brush Pack. The pack is currently 3 favourites off 1000 which is an incredible achievement for me. I can't thank you all enough for your support.

It's been hectic since my return from Paris and now I'm preparing to go away with the RAF for a week in Wales at RAF Valley. I've got lots coming up though including a new brush set and several large abstract pieces. I will try and get them released ASAP as soon as I get a spare 5 minutes. For the meantime here's one artist you really should take a look at.

I first met JaneDoe in the forums advertising some of her work. From then I've watched her progress from what would have to be an average artist into one of the best photographers, digital artists and photomanipulators I have seen. It's really nice to watch someone improve in their work as I feel this is what DA is all about. I would encourage you all to take a closer look at her work, particularly the new elements series.

Having only just got my feet back on the ground again I'm now going to Austria for 2 weeks for a bit of mountain walking. Thanks for the positive response towards the blood effect tutorial, I hope that helps those who were struggling. I've got several large art pieces and another brush set to release when I get back so watch this space.

Again just a quick bit from me. I just got back from a lovely 2 week holiday in France and am currently inundated with messages and PM's. I'm going away to Austria on the 29th of this month for 2 weeks but I will endeavour to reply to as many as possible before I go. I've just released a Blood Effect Tutorial to complement my brushes so if your one of those having problems using them be sure to check it out.

I've been watching him for some time now and it's always nice to watch an artist improve and evolve a style of their own. Darkness has produced some lovely abstract work and having now mastered PhotoShop is experimenting with Terragen and Space scenes. Definitely someone to watch out for in the future.
